Rio $25,000 Progressive - Jackpot Sit 'n' Go

The Rio series of Sit and Go tournaments from the iPoker network of poker rooms is a mix between tournament poker, and progressive jackpot prizes.

In the Rio, players compete in $23 Sit and Go tournaments. The object is to win six of these poker tournaments in a row. Anyone who can do that wins the progressive jackpot of at least $25,000.

The tournaments are 6 player tournaments, so the style of poker is faster and looser. With many players preferring to play on the short tables, this poker tournament series is perfect.

The jackpot for the tournament series begins at $25,000, but it is a progressive jackpot. If no one wins the jackpot for four weeks straight, the prize pool begins to grow. Every week $5,000 is added to the prize total, and it continues to climb until someone finally manages to win six consecutive Rio Jackpot Sit n Go tournaments.

Besides the giant jackpot, there is a consolation prize. Anyone who places either first or second in six consecutive Rio tournaments wins a $300 prize. Considering there are only 6 players in the tournament, getting first or second seems like a reasonable accomplishment.

Players have 30 days to win their tournaments, so there is a bit of a time limit on the Rio Jackpot Tournaments. During the time between tournament victories, players can play cash games or other tournaments. So, participating in the Rio tournament does not interfere with your other play.

The Rio $25,000 Jackpot Sit 'n' Go holds their players to a level of sportsmanship. A player can be disqualified from winning the jackpot if they use offensive language at the tables. So, remember to keep your cool even in the heat of battle at the tables.

You can play in the Rio $25,000 Jackpot Sit 'n' Go tournaments at the following poker rooms:

Titan Poker where new players can receive a 50% sign up bonus when making their first deposit. If you sign up at Titan, be sure to use Bonus Code: rules to take advantage of the sign up offer. The max bonus is $200.

Noble Poker also runs the Dirty Dozen tournaments. In fact, I first heard of these tournaments through Noble. Check the top of the page to see if they are still running the free $5 accounts for completing the 2005 Poker Survey. If they are, you can use that free money to start playing. Or, you can take advantage of their deposit bonus for first time players. They too run a 50% deposit bonus. At Noble the max bonus is $100.
