March 2007
March brings a lot of poker action to the tables. In the world of Heads Up play, March will play host to the game of NBC's National Heads Up Poker Championship. The players in this tournament are invited, so don't feel bad if you missed your chance to get there through a satellite. There are only two players that make the event that way, and one wins their seat at the Casino where the games are played (Caesar's), the other wins via NBC online.
Braodcasts for the games are sceduled for Sunday's at noon throughout the spring.
Lower Welcome Bonuses
Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet have substanitally lowered their welcome bonuses for new players. They had been at historic highs, and the current bonus offerings of $250 and $350 per player are still far higher than rooms like PokerStars and Party Poker. Still, this move on their part is surely a sign of the times.
World Series of Poker Circuit
There will be two WSOP Circuit Events in March. The first takes place at Caesars in Atlantic City, and runs from the 5th through the 14th. There will be seven events in all, every one of them a No Limit Texas Holdem tournament. The main event has a $5,000 buy-in.
The second Circuit Event takes place at Caesars Indiana. Those games begin on the 26th of March, and conclude on the 4th of April. The schedule of events hasn't been announced at the WSOP website.
World Poker Tour
The WPT hits four different casinos in March. The Commerce Casino in California hosts the first event of the month, the WPT Celebrity Invitational which runs from the 5th through the 7th. Celebrities have a lot going on, so three days of poker must be enough for them. 
The second event of the month is the Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament. It is held at the Bay 101 casino in sunny California. The games begin on the 12th and run through the 16th.
Stop number three for the WPT in March is the World Poker Challenge. The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino plays host to this tournament. The Grand Sierra is in Reno Nevada. Cards will be dealt for this event from the 25th through the 28th of the month.
The final WPT event for March begins in March, but ends in April. It is the Foxwoods Poker Classic. This event begins on the 30th, and concludes April 4th.
