I recently spent some time at Bally's poker room. The casino itself is located on the corner of Park Place and Boardwalk, two names that will jump out at anyone who has ever played Monopoly.

The casino itself has two sections where poker is dealt. One is Bally's Wild Wild West Poker Corral which is located in the portion of the casino with the Wild West theme. Poker and the wild west go together well. This section is used to cater to tournament players. They host holdem tournaments here, with 10 tables that can accomodate 100 players.

The Wild West poker section is also in a no-smoking environment, so it is a fresh and clean place to play cards.

The second poker section in the casino is hiden on the 6th floor. It is Billy's Poker Parlor. Inside of Billy's you'll find horse-racing, and Keno, and tucked away in the back is an open poker room. Smoking is allowed in this poker room.

With 20 tables, the room holds plenty of players. And with flat screen televisions surrounding the room, you can follow sporting events, or whatever else is on display. During tournament several of the screens display the blinds clock, so you can keep one eye on sports and one on the tourney.

By tucking the room away from the casino floor, and around the corner from the vocal horse-bettors, the room has a feel of its own. The sounds you hear are poker sounds, and while there's more to entertain you than just the action at the tables, players aren't bombarded with sounds and flashing from the gaming floor.
