Poker Tells - Long Delay
Mike Caro is a noted poker author, and his book on Poker Tells is the leading resource on the topic.
This poker tip has to do with gathering information about your opponent's play by observing how they act at the table, especially the amount of time that a player takes to bet.

Long Delay
Here's a transcript of the video . . .
Did you know that the amount of time that a player takes to bet is sometimes an indication of how strong his hand is?
Well, watch and you’ll see. This is Holdem and No-Limit. Now let’s just watch this.
Oooh, 3 diamonds on the board and there’s a bet, pretty sizable bet I think. Oh, this man is thinking. Ooh, he’s really thinking, isn’t he? Wonder what this means?
If you are in a No-Limit game, what would this mean to you? Was this guy ever gonna do anything or what? Well, I’m getting bored, I don’t know about you. How long can this go on?
What you need to know here is that when you’re playing No-Limit, and a player takes an inordinately long time to decide what to do, and just sits there and sits there and sits there, like this, and thinks and thinks and thinks, this player has already made up his mind what to do.
If this player comes out raising, as he eventually will in this case, you should be pretty sure he has a legitimate hand. A likelihood of a bluff is very much diminished when a player takes this much time.
You know why? Because they would be afraid they’d get called.
So he’s using this extra time to try to lure his opponent into calling to make him think there’s something suspicious about the bet. But really, there’s nothing suspicious about this bet. This man, not only has a diamond flush, he has an ace high diamond flush, and you can bet on it.
